*I would like to note here that my suspicion is that the number marked is constriction in relation to a standard bore, NOT a over bore* Right away it is apparent that what is marked on my chokes is not what the constriction actually is, causing me to wonder what the number represents or is even on there for? 015"Īnd the Flooded Timber pro bore measures. The T/P pro bore choke that came with it measures. My "Pro bored" Versa Max has a bore that measures. The "Turkey Extra Full" Remchoke I have for it measures. I have a 12 gauge 870 Wingmaster XCS with a standard bore that measures. I like my "timber" choke with 1 3/8 ounce of #4 steel when hunting ducks over decoys out to 40 yards and I switch to 1 3/8 ounce of #2's and my "pass shooting" one when big ducks and geese are on the menu and or I am backing up new hunters! However like you, I was curious as to what mine actually measured after another VM owner posted something similar in my Versa Max Topic regarding how dang confusing Remington's choke name calling is to sort out.especially with overbored barrels! So I got my digital calipers out and measured my VM and it's chokes.įor comparison I started with one of my 870's. All of my chokes throw consistently even patterns and I am pleased with the results. I do not have any flush chokes, but i have shot patterns with various loads and sizes of steel shot in all 4 of my extended ones that came with my MODB VM.
